Katy Perry Performs “Part Of Me” For Obama

You’re Never Gonna Ever Take Away Katy’s Obama Dress

There’s not much chance Katy Perry will be voting Romney. After debuting her ballot dress (with Obama’s bubble filled in) a couple weeks ago, the “Wide Awake” singer appeared on the President’s behalf for a free show in Milwaukee, where she performed a cover of Al Green‘s “Let’s Stay Together” along with her own hits. And once again she was rocking a Barack-inspired dress, this time a blue one emblazoned with the word “Forward” (his campaign slogan, as well as Wisconsin’s state motto).

Katy also paused midway through her set to urge her fans to pitch in to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. What good causes!

Has Katy inspired you to vote Obama? Let us know in the comments!

Kylie Minogue Performs “Flower” & Other Hits At London’s Proms In The Park: Watch

Kylie Is As Lovely As A Flower In Hyde Park

Kylie Minogue hit up London’s Hyde Park over the weekend for a special performance at Proms In The Park, ahead of the release of her LP The Abbey Road Sessions (out November 6). Everyone’s favorite Aussie pop diva serenaded the crowd with her unreleased tune “Flower”, as well as a slew of the hits she’s had throughout her 25-year career.

“I never recorded the studio version, so this is for you,” Minogue told the Hyde Park audience before launching into “Flower”, which will appear on The Abby Road Sessions. Watch that one above, then catch her singing some classics below – including a re-imagined, moving rendition of “Wow”, with a full choir on backup.

DJs Beware: Green Day Is After You

Green Day stormed The Echoplex in Los Angeles last night with a not-so-secret show, and we were thrilled to be one of the many moshing fans crammed into the 700-capacity club. The Bay Area band opened up with “Welcome To Paradise” and “American Idiot”, but used at least half of their two-hour (plus) set to debut new material from their upcoming album trilogy. One such song was Uno! track “Kill The DJ”, a song that sounds like Franz Ferdinand‘s “Take Me Out” mixed with The White Stripes‘ “The Hardest Button To Button”, with Billie Joe Armstrong exclaiming, “Shoot the fucking DJ!” No dubstep here, folks.

Head below for live recordings of other new songs “Nuclear Family” and “Wild One”.

We think we see our heads and hands rocking back in forth in the crowd in this fan-shot footage. We also noted that fans weren’t the only ones with their camera posed on the trio, as there were several pros shooting the show as well. Looks like performances from their Echoplex gig just might end up in the band’s forthcoming documentary.
